What is Lent?
Lent is a sacred season in the Christian tradition, lasting 40 days (not counting Sundays) from Ash Wednesday to Easter. It is a time of reflection, repentance, and renewal, inviting believers to grow closer to God by focusing on prayer, fasting, and acts of service. The 40 days commemorate Jesus’ time in the wilderness, where He fasted and overcame temptation, preparing for His ministry. Lent encourages us to set aside distractions, examine our hearts, and embrace spiritual disciplines that help us reflect on Christ’s sacrifice and prepare for the joy and hope of Easter.
Why the Lent Journey?
The Lenten season offers a unique and sacred opportunity to grow closer to God through intentional reflection and worship. By committing to attend every Lenten event, you allow yourself to be fully immersed in this spiritual journey, walking alongside Christ as He prepares for the cross. Each service and gathering is designed to deepen your faith, renew your spirit, and connect you more closely with your church community. Make it your goal this Lent to be present at every event, embracing the season fully and opening your heart to the transformative power of God’s love. You may be amazed at how this intentional devotion can impact your life in profound and lasting ways. And don’t come alone—bring a friend who could be impacted by these meaningful experiences and invite them to walk this journey with you.
