Welcome to Cypress Methodist Church!
Hello, My name is Amy Furbee, Director of Connections and Communication. If you are new to Cypress, I would love the opportunity to say a quick “Hello” in person and hand you a welcome bag. You will find me located outside of the worship spaces on Sunday morning or in the church office during the week. I am also available to answer your questions or connect you to life inside our church. I look forward to getting to know you.
Friends,
It is my sincere hope that in the pages of our website you will find a personal welcome to the life and ministry of Cypress Methodist Church. After everything that we have been through in the last year, I believe that the church is more relevant and needed than ever before.
When we talk about the ministry that we are called to do here at Cypress we often talk a lot about bridges that reach from one point to the next, that serve as a connector bringing groups of people together. In fact those discussions often start much like this: “Cypress Methodist Church is in ministry to … build bridges and create community that connects people to Jesus’ life giving story.” As we come together to work and worship and serve the people of Cypress, we believe our community grows stronger and stronger. And since the months of isolation and social distancing that started more than a year ago, we have discovered now more than ever how very important community is. It is our hope and prayer that as you get to know this amazing community of faith here in Cypress, our belief will become your reality.
We believe that the bridges that we build into our community, the community that we define as our mission field, are built on the 5 key pillars of understanding for us as a church. They are listed below:
• Be Authentic in Relationships
• Reclaim Worship as a Lifestyle
• Develop a Missional Approach to Life and Ministry
• Grow Partnerships with Parents to Disciple Kids
• Encourage Spiritual Growth
Our hope is that all people will feel loved and welcomed at Cypress MC. And once here we pray that you will meet God through the lives of one another and find strength and support for daily living. We want this for you. So come as you are. Check us out, but more importantly seek the truth of God that can only be known when one knows Jesus and his amazing life-giving story.
While you are browsing our website you will learn more about our programs and get a glimpse of who we are, but I promise you, it will only be a glimpse. To fully understand us, come to a worship service or to a small group and feel the up-close, in-person fellowship that comes when people share time together with the Holy Spirit present. We look forward to getting to know you.
Grace and Peace,
Dr. Tony McCollum
Senior Pastor
Worship
The one thing that gives God the greatest pleasure of all is worship. That is why at Cypress Methodist Church, we place such an emphasis on worship. It is our belief that worship is a time for us to praise God and also grow closer to God. Our desire is that people will walk out of a service wanting more in their relationship with God.

Adult Small Groups
Church small groups play a pivotal role in fostering a deeper sense of community and spiritual growth within congregations. These intimate gatherings provide a safe and welcoming space for members to connect on a personal level, building meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging. In these small groups, individuals can share their faith journeys, discuss scripture, and seek guidance and support from fellow believers. Small groups also facilitate accountability and discipleship, allowing members to encourage one another in their walk with God.
